There are free templates. Why this one?

There are, and some are fine. The difference is what has been checked. This file was built from scratch, then every formula in it was recalculated by a separate checker that compares each result against an independently worked-out answer — 22 of them here. A template that looks right and totals wrong is worse than no template at all, and that is the usual failing of one downloaded from a search result.

It also opens with sample rows already filled in, so you can see every formula working before you touch it, and it is set up to print without fighting the page setup. No watermark, and you can use it commercially.

About this Interview Scorecard template

Interview decisions are fairer when every candidate is scored on the same things. This Excel interview scorecard lists your criteria with a weight for each, and lets interviewers score up to three candidates from 1 to 5 on every criterion.

The weighted scores are added up, the highest score is shown and the strongest candidate is named, with a check that the weights add up to 100%.

How to use the Interview Scorecard in Excel

Score each criterion 1–5 per candidate. Weights decide what actually matters, so the winner is calculated rather than argued.

The file opens with sample rows so you can see every formula working before you change anything. Type your own figures over them. When you need more rows, insert them inside the existing block rather than underneath it, so the totals keep covering every row.

How do the weights work?

Each criterion's weight sets how much it counts. A score of 4 on a criterion weighted 30% counts three times as much as the same score on one weighted 10%.
